We all have an innate, natural, best way of doing things and when able to do things this way, we experience greater, more consistent levels of success and fulfillment. Conversely, when going against our innate drives and motivations, e.g., if others tell us we ‘ought’ or ‘should’ do something in a particular way, we experience stress and frustration. Importantly, I.D. doesn’t measure what we can and can’t do but pinpoints our innate drives, identifying exactly what we need to be at our best across all our activities, roles, and relationships - personally and professionally.
While complementary to other profiling tools, I.D. differs because of its focus on innate drives versus behavior. Our behavior and how we show up in the world is influenced by many factors such as our beliefs and values; life experiences; education and training; passions and interests; levels of self-esteem and self-confidence; and our attitude, outlook, and personality. Behavior often changes over time while our I.D. is innate and unchangeable.
Our energy, effectiveness, and fulfillment are high when we’re consistently able to do things in our best and natural way - we’re in stride. This may be for a combination of reasons, including being in an environment where we feel supported to do things in a way that works for us and having found strategies that help us stay on track or get back on track quickly when circumstances challenge us. Conversely, when not able to do things ‘our way’, we’re out of stride. As a result, we experience stress and frustration and, if this persists over time, we’re likely to experience more significant impacts on our energy, motivation, effectiveness, and health and well-being. Your I.D. pinpoints what you need to stay in stride and provides targeted strategies to use when pulled out of stride. Our I.D. Pulse feature helps you track how in or out of stride you are over time, helps you identify stressors or energizers, and gives you strategies to help keep you on track or get back on track.
The applications of I.D. are endless and apply to people’s personal and professional lives. Once you know what you need to be at your best, you can proactively seek to:
✦ Get your needs met, including by letting others know what you need and making requests
✦ Learn your early warning signs that things are going off track, so you can take action early
✦ Set up your day, activities, responsibilities, and interactions, so they energize and work for you
✦ Use strategies to minimize stress and frustration and fast-track goals, including career goals
✦ Better connect, communicate, and collaborate with others, at work and with family and friends
Reliability & Validity - The University of Western Sydney Research found:
The I.D. System was a reliable and valid catalyst for improving team performance The strength of the system appears to be embedded in the strategies directed at individual motivations. Quantitative methods used to substantiate the I.D. System™ suggest the existing and refined versions are reliable and valid assessment tools for gauging individual instinctive drives. Published commentary on reliability and validity testing of other well-known psychometric tools reveals the I.D.™ survey appears to fare favourably relative to the MBTI and DiSC®.

The Management of Organizational Stress - The University of Western Sydney found:
The I.D. System helps facilitate the management of occupational stress, and as such, improve employee wellbeing. It provides individuals and teams with useful insight into personal tendencies and preferred working styles; practical strategies to maximise peak performance; and a platform for clear dialogue. By exposing the essence of individual employees, teams within the workplace are able to engage in effective communication quickly, and thus better manage the internal and external stresses that have the potential to hinder performance.
